1980 Superior / International Conventional

Passenger Capacity: N/A
Engine: International DT466 diesel
Brakes: Air
Mileage: 152,516

Notes:
This old Superior (on an International S-1800 chassis) has been converted to a "band bus".  It is used by the high school marching band to haul instruments and equipment to football games and band contests.  The seats have been removed, and carpeting has been put on the floor and the walls under the windows.  A cage with a door separates the driver's compartment from the cargo area.  Double doors have been added on the right rear side, and a pull-out ramp is under the rear door to make loading and unloading easier.  On the outside, the "School Bus" emblems on the front and rear were replaced with the district name (this has been digitally removed on the photos).  The overhead red & yellow flashers have been disconnected.  Notice the low number and small size of the lights on the rear of the bus: The bottom red lights are combination taillights / brake lights, and the upper red lights are the turn signals.  One more thing... this is the only school bus I've ever seen that has a hood ornament!
